What is Freelancing?
You may be wondering, "Now what is freelancing?" Freelancing means working as a private company rather than being hired by someone else. Freelancers are self-employed, remote workers and are often referred to as independent contractors.
Freelancers are employed by other companies on a part-time or part-time basis, but they do not receive the same compensation as full-time employees or the same degree of commitment to any particular company.
As the gig economy is raised people are talking more about freelancing than ever before. That's because there are a much greater number of freelancers than ever before in history. In the words of the Global gig Economy Index, Freelancing Revenue in Pakistan has increased by 43% as compared to 2018.
and according to an analysis currently, almost one million freelancers are working in Pakistan with the majority hailing from the cities Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad. and Pakistan is ranking 4rth most popular country for freelancers according to the online labor index published by oxford internet institute.
Freelancer:
A freelancer is a self-employed person who works with different national and international clients but in his own comfort zone and working environment. In other words, he is his own boss. He sets his work timing by himself, offers his own services menu and prices. He does not need to go to any office or work under the pressure of his boss. He creates his own working environment and does work. He earns more than any 9-5 o'clock job.
Each and every freelancer has a different kind of work continuity. Some Freelancers get hired and work with the same clients over a number of years and some get hired just for one project only. But it's true that freelancing as a profession growing up fastly.
How does Freelancing Work?
In freelancing, freelancers offer their particular services and international clients hire and pay them for their work. The agreement between the client and freelancer may be short-term or long-term.
For Example, I need a photographer to take some headshots. I will go to freelance marketplaces like Fiverr, Upwork, Freelancer, Guru, etc., and hire a freelancer to take these headshots for me. He will take these headshots and I will pay him. So, in this way, I avoided hiring him permanently but I have done my task also. and he is also avoided working for me from 9-5'o clock and in a bounded environment. It is the pure and simplest form of entrepreneurship.
Why do people are prefer freelancing over office jobs?
Freelancing provides a lot of flexibility to freelancers. Freelancers choose their own hours to work, the work they do. A freelancer is an entrepreneur also, which means he has total control of his earnings. He is not locked into a salary base job. So he can earn as much as he wants.
and as a freelancer, he is his own boss so you don't need to sit at one place and work for the hours. You do not need to work under any pressure and in a boundary. You are free to work on your demanded payment.
Like other things, Freelancing has some advantages as well as disadvantages.
